Urban Pumpkin Truck Vancouver

A Festive Community Celebration

On Saturday, October 4th, the corner of 12th & Larch in Vancouver came alive with autumn cheer as the O’Brien Group hosted its Annual Urban Pumpkin Truck. The GCBA was delighted to join this festive community celebration alongside families and neighbours.

Celebrating Community at the Annual Urban Pumpkin Truck

This unique urban event isn’t your traditional pumpkin patch – instead, it brings the spirit of fall directly into the city. Attendees enjoyed:

  • Free pumpkins for all participants

  • Face painting for children and the young at heart

  • Balloon twisting that created fun designs and smiles all around

Andrea Basche, Kirsten Friedrichs and Sabine Just at the Annual Urban Pumpkin Truck Event in VancouverThe atmosphere was vibrant, festive, and full of community spirit, providing a perfect setting for families to celebrate the season without leaving the city.

Our GCBA members were thrilled to attend this year’s Urban Pumpkin Truck Vancouver event, following an invitation from our Silver Sponsor Sabine Just, who hosts the annual pumpkin patch. The first guests to arrive were our President, Andrea, and Kirsten, our Membership Director. They supported their board colleague Sabine’s efforts to connect the community. Both were happy to take a pumpkin home and try one of the recipes we shared in our last newsletter.

Members shared how much fun they had enjoying the fall activities and connecting with other community members. Events like the Urban Pumpkin Truck Vancouver highlight how local initiatives bring people together and strengthen community ties.

A big thank you to the O’Brien Group for organizing such a fun, family-friendly day that united people of all ages to enjoy the season. We also extend our gratitude to Sabine Just for her ongoing support, enthusiasm, and dedication to engaging the GCBA community. Events like these remind us of the importance of connection, shared experiences, and local celebration.

We look forward to attending again next year, creating new memories, and supporting seasonal events that bring neighbours together and celebrate community spirit.
