GCBA and Finnish Chamber Host Exclusive Event at Vancouver Seaforth Armoury
Strengthening Partnerships and Alliances
On November 3, 2025, the German-Canadian Business Association (GCBA) and the Finnish-Canadian Chamber of Commerce of Western Canada hosted an exclusive event at Vancouver Seaforth Armoury. The evening focused on “The Need for the Alliance of Sectors and Diverse Stakeholders for a United, Fair, and More Prosperous Canada.”
The program gathered members and guests from both communities. It aimed to highlight the importance of cooperation and the exchange of ideas between international partners.
A Night of Insight and Collaboration
Tom Nyberg, Honorary Consul of Finland in Vancouver, and Alexander Jecht, Vice President of the GCBA, opened the evening. They spoke about the strong business ties between Germany, Finland, and Canada.
Afterward, Aki Temisevä, President and CEO of the United Nations Association in Canada, delivered an inspiring keynote address. He shared how collaboration and shared goals can strengthen communities. His talk motivated guests to keep building connections across sectors.
Distinguished Guests and Gratitude
The GCBA was honoured to welcome Marc Eichhorn, Consul General of Germany in Vancouver. His presence reinforced the ongoing friendship between Germany and Canada.
In addition, the Association thanks Mr. Rod Bell-Irving, Retired Colonel, for his valuable contribution. He shared the history of the Vancouver Seaforth Armoury and helped coordinate the event. Because of his support, the evening ran smoothly and left a lasting impression.

This event at Vancouver Seaforth Armoury was open to GCBA business members and invited guests. The historic venue created an elegant setting for conversation and networking. Moreover, it reflected the spirit of partnership that defines both organizations.
