Exploring German Culture in Vancouver
German Schools in Vancouver: A Visit to VWGS and SGLSS
This month, some of our new board members had the pleasure of visiting German schools in Vancouver, further solidifying our commitment to supporting and enriching the local German community. These schools play a vital role in promoting language and culture in the city, and we are proud to be part of their network.
Exploring Vancouver Westside German School (VWGS)
Following the presentation, a lively Q&A session allowed parents to ask questions. The answers provided clear insights into the process and possibilities for students pursuing international education. The session was highly successful, leaving parents and students with valuable information about studying abroad.
Celebrating Maifest at Surrey German Language School (SGLSS)
Next, we visited the Surrey German Language School‘s Mai-fest, a celebration of German culture and language. The event included the presentation of certificates to graduates of A1, A2, and DSD2 levels (DSD1 students are still awaiting their results). We extend our congratulations to all graduates for their dedication and hard work.

Hans Stocker, Deputy Consul General, elevated the event by presenting the certificates to the graduates. His presence added prestige and made the occasion even more memorable. Families enjoyed the festivities under the warm sunshine, making the Maifest a true celebration of community and culture.

Strengthening Our Connection with Local German Schools
Both, the Vancouver Westside German School (VWGS) and the Surrey German Language School (SGLSS) are integral parts of our network. We are delighted to continue supporting their mission to promote German language and culture in Vancouver. These collaborations help foster a vibrant and connected German-Canadian community.
Here’s to many more fruitful collaborations and celebrations of German culture in Vancouver! Together, we look forward to enriching the cultural and educational experiences of the local community.
